Learning, Leading, Leveling Up

In a strong demonstration of its commitment to quality education, ADRA Bangladesh conducted a two-day Staff Learning & Capacity Building Training in June 2025, bringing together teachers and project staff from the Calantika Slum Children Development Project (CSCDP) and the Tongi Children Education Program (TCEP). Set in the serene environment of CCULB Resort, the training was designed to inspire, equip, and unite those at the forefront of shaping young minds.

The event came at a crucial time, reaffirming the organization’s belief that stronger educators mean stronger communities. With a focus on creativity, collaboration, and professional growth, the training was led by senior leadership from ADRA Bangladesh—including the Country Director, Program Director, Finance Director, and Sponsorship Officer—who each brought strategic insight and encouragement to the sessions.

The first day featured interactive workshops and practical exercises centered on child-friendly teaching methods. Participants explored play-based learning and inclusive engagement strategies, allowing them to rediscover the joy and impact of learner-centered education. The sessions provided valuable tools to make classrooms more dynamic, participatory, and responsive to the unique needs of children in slum and under-resourced communities.

The second day was marked by an inspiring series of sessions conducted by Anando Chowdhury, a respected mentor known for his dedication to teacher empowerment. His practical yet deeply motivational style challenged participants to view their roles beyond instruction—as nurturers of potential, facilitators of curiosity, and defenders of dignity. With real-life classroom examples, he offered techniques that promote empathy, creativity, and confidence in students—qualities essential for transformational education.

Beyond the formal learning, the training fostered stronger team cohesion between the CSCDP and TCEP teams. By sharing their unique challenges and successes, participants built a deeper sense of unity and purpose. The event served as a space to reflect, reconnect, and align their vision toward shared educational goals.

Teachers left the resort energized and equipped—not just with new tools and knowledge, but with a renewed sense of mission. Many expressed gratitude for the opportunity to pause, reflect, and grow in their roles as educators who stand at the heart of ADRA’s work.
