Food Aid from Hong Kong Government for 5,145 Families
Two months after the widespread flooding brought by Tropical Storm “Gener” and the southwest monsoon rains on August 2012, thousands of affected families are still in the evacuation centers.  These families have not recovered yet and still looking for ways to meet their basic food needs. With the support from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Disaster Relief Fund and ADRA China/Hong Kong, food aid totaling one million HKG dollars assisted 5,145 families from the towns of Angeles, San Fernando, Masantol, and Macabee in Pampanga and Binan City in Laguna. Distributed food packs were estimated to last seven days for a family of five. Repacking, delivery, and distribution of more than 100 tons of food were implemented by ADRA Philippines in partnership with the different suppliers of food items, volunteers from Adventist Community Services, Adventist University of the Philippines and City Social Welfare and Development Offices of Pampanga and Laguna.
